Jürgen Schläder
Jürgen Schläder (* 1948 in Hagen ) is a German theater and musicologist .
Life
Schläder studied German and musicology at the Ruhr University in Bochum and received his doctorate in musicology in 1978 with the dissertation " Undine on the music theater". In 1986 he completed his habilitation on the subject of “Das Opernduett. A type of scene from the 19th century and its prehistory ”.
From May 1987 to March 2014 Schläder was Professor of Theater Studies with a focus on music theater at LMU Munich . Current research focuses are: "Aesthetic foundations and analysis of contemporary directorial theater ", "Experimental forms of the latest music theater" and the "History of the Bavarian State Opera in the 20th Century".
