Jürgen Schneider (Pedagogue)

Jürgen Schneider (* 1949 or 1950 ) is a German educator . From 2005 to 2013 he was President of the Regional Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Regional Church of Hanover .

Life

Jürgen Schneider studied land maintenance in Hanover and adult education in Esslingen . He then worked as a nature conservation planner in Switzerland . Schneider worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Landscape Management in Hanover . From 1990 to 2004 he headed the Lower Saxony Lutheran Folk High School in Hermannsburg . Until 2008 he worked there as a freelance coach and consultant.

Jürgen Schneider has been a member of the regional synod of the Evangelical Lutheran regional church of Hanover since 2002 and was elected president of the regional synod in 2004, he took office in 2005, and his term of office ended in 2013. He was also a member of the synod of the Confederation of Protestant Churches in Lower Saxony from 2005 to 2014 and its deputy president since 2009. As president of the regional synod he was a member of the church senate of the regional church of Hanover.
