from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mark N. Nuaimi (born January 8, 1966 ) is an American local politician ( Republican ).

Nuaimi was a councilor in the southern California city of Fontana from 1996 . He ran for mayor back in 1994, but was defeated by David Eshleman . In the 2002 elections he managed to defeat incumbent Eshleman. In 2006, Nuaimi was confirmed by the residents of Fontana for four more years in the mayor's office. In addition, from March 2006 to December 2009, he was deputy city manager of Colton , a community just east of Fontana. The exercise of both offices brought Nuaimi occasional criticism because of possible conflicts of interest .

In early July 2010 - a few months before the regular end of his term of office - Mark Nuaimi resigned as Mayor of Fontana to become city manager of Yucca Valley . The city council appointed Vice Mayor Frank Scialdone as the interim successor . Nuaimi's activity in the Yucca Valley was controversial. He became particularly unpopular when he announced massive savings in March 2013 - just two months after a significant increase in his salary. The city council of Yucca Valley then decided on August 20 to dissolve the contract with Nuami.
