Jürgen Schröder (born July 28, 1941 ) is a German pianist and professor.

education

Jürgen Schröder studied with Dieter Zechlin at the "Hanns Eisler" University of Music in Berlin . In 1966 he passed his exam there with distinction . As a student of Amadeus Webersinke and through his participation in several master classes , for example with Guido Agosti , Jakow Israilewitsch Sak and Ludwik Stefański , the pianist got ideas for his further development .

Teaching

Immediately after graduating in 1966 , Jürgen Schröder became a lecturer at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin, where he is still professor for piano. His students include numerous winners of national and international competitions (including Christiane Klonz , Siiri Schütz , Caroline Fischer , Gunther Leonhardt , Anne Salié and Xenia Kourkoumeli ). So far he has held master classes in Germany, Scandinavia, Greece, South Korea and China. He is currently working as a visiting lecturer in China.

Appearances

Jürgen Schröder is also an internationally recognized concert pianist . He was selected for recordings by radio and television. He gives solo evenings and gives concerts as a soloist in orchestral concerts, as a song accompanist and as a duo partner of well-known international artists such as the German violinist Manfred Scherzer , the Slovenian flautist Irena Grafenauer and the Czech violinist Vaclav Hudecek .

Jürgen Schröder has already given very successful concerts both in Germany and in almost all European countries as well as in Egypt, China, Japan, South Korea, Cuba, Madagascar and the former Soviet Union. Numerous press reviews described his piano playing as "captivating and elegant" (Stockholm), "it impresses with its excellent technique and great expressiveness" (Vienna).

Discography

In 2007, claXL released a CD with works by Beethoven and Mendelssohn, on which Jürgen Schröder can be heard as the duo partner of the German violinist Manfred Scherzer. These are historical recordings from the German Broadcasting Archive that were made in 1971 and 1977.
