Jürgen Stahlbock (born May 2, 1951 in Hitzacker / Elbe , Lüchow-Dannenberg district ) is a pedagogue and German children's book author .

Life

After graduating from high school, Stahlbock studied pedagogy in Hamburg and Lüneburg. Since the end of 1974 he worked in the school service. From 1990 to 1996 he was deputy headmaster, from 1996 then rector.

Stahlbock has been married since 1976. During his first time as a teacher, he was committed to nature and environmental protection. In 1981 he founded the association "Environmental protection means life - citizen action e. V." in Ilsede . (UBL), which is increasingly committed to keeping the Ilseder air clean, which was very heavily polluted by a coking plant at the Ilseder Hütte . For a long time, Stahlbock was a spokesman for the "Working Group Air" in the "Landesverband Bürgerinitiativen Umweltverwaltung" (LBU), a nature conservation organization recognized under the Federal Nature Conservation Act . Later he worked with various children and youth groups in the Bleckeder "ArbeitsGemeinschaft 'Natur & Umwelt' e.V." (AGNU).

In his job his work was very strongly oriented towards reform education . Stahlbock's motto: "Stand up instead of teaching!" He relied on the independence and responsibility of his students. Stahlbock worked in the educational reform working group “ View over the fence ” and in the “Network of the Archive of the Future”. In addition, Stahlbock was a course leader in regional and state-wide state training. He contributed to the magazines “ Grundschule ” and “ Praxis Grundschule ”. He was a moderator for workshop lessons and work and led corresponding training weeks (ends). Cross-school internships were important to him and in 1994, on his initiative, the “Ring for an innovative primary school e. V. “(in short: RinG) by teachers initially from Lower Saxony who met for internal training weekends. A training initiative developed from the RinG, offering nationwide training and further education. The state of Lower Saxony recognized these training measures.

After leaving school, Stahlbock gave up the chairmanship of the RinG. In the meantime, the RinG has become the “barracuda network”. Mainly school principals, department heads and also freelancers from the educational field work in it.

Stahlbock had a teaching position at the University of Lüneburg (today: Leuphana University ).

During his primary school work, Stahlbock started a morning circle almost every day in his classes. This then focused on your own stories or reading aloud from children's books. His students wrote many stories themselves 'right from the start', some of which were then also printed and bound. From this fund and from the experiences of his own childhood in Hitzacker / Elbe, the "Everyday Stories" emerged, which Stahlbock published in four volumes in " Projekt-Verlag Cornelius " and two volumes in self-publishing. His hometown Hitzacker bears the name "Sonnfeld" in these stories.

Since the end of 2010, Stahlbock has been giving readings primarily in primary schools and bookshops, but also in public spaces. Such took place in Berlin, Bremen, Leipzig, Hamburg, Kiel, Peine, also in Tyrol and many smaller places.

Stahlbock lives with his wife in Bleckede / Elbe; together they have two grown children.
