J'Anna Jacoby

J'Anna Jacoby , also J'Anna Jacoby (* 26. April 1964 as Janna J. Jacoby in Butte County , California ) is an American musician. Beyond the field of classical music, she became known as a companion on the tours of numerous pop stars, where she mainly played the violin and the mandolin .

J'Anna Jacoby studied violin in the USA and at the Vienna Conservatory . She was a member of the rock band The Black Watch until 2003 . Since then she has been working as a freelancer. As an accompanying musician in the studio or on tour, she can be heard on numerous CDs by other artists, such as Michael Crawford , John Tesh , Tony Bennett , Glen Campbell , Shirley Bassey , Pam Tillis , Engelbert , Natalie Cole , George Benson , Sir Bob Geldof and The Format . For years she has been a constant companion on the tours of rock singer Rod Stewart and is also included in the show by him.

J'Anna Jacoby cultivates different styles of music such as classical music, pop, rock, Celtic , country & western, jazz and flamenco. She is also occasionally involved in soundtracks for film and television. She has been fluent in German since her time in Vienna.

Awards

In 1978 Jacoby won the Grand Master Fiddler Championship , a competition held annually in the USA to choose the best violinists in the world.
