JP Bekasiak

John Paul Bekasiak (born January 1, 1982 in Edmonton , Alberta ) is a retired Canadian American football and Canadian football player. He played six seasons as the defensive tackle position in the Canadian Football League (CFL).

Career

Bekasiak played college football at the University of Toledo from 2003 to 2006 . In his freshman year he scored three tackles in three games . In 2004 he played in twelve games, the last two as a starter. He scored eleven tackles. In the junior year he scored 22 tackles and four sacks . In his senior year he reached 29 tackles and a half sack. In the 2007 CFL Draft , he was selected as the fourth player by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats . In 2009 he moved to the Montreal Alouettes , with whom he won the Gray Cup in 2009 and 2010 . On the second day of the 2012 season, he scored his first touchdown . On August 11, 2013, he announced his resignation from the CFL. He played 61 games, scoring 47 tackles and five sacks.
