Jorge Gomes Mangrinha Académica Sport Clube do Huambo , or JGM do Huambo for short , is an Angolan football club from Huambo .
The club welcomes its guests to the Estádio dos Kurikutelas , built in 1947 and seating 8,000 , where local rivals Clube Recreativo da Caála also play their home games.
history
The association was founded on May 12, 1998 in Huambo, under the full name Clube Desportivo Jorge Gomes Mangrinha do Huambo . The name refers to the businessman and club owner Jorge Gomes Mangrinha.
In 2015 the club won the championship of the top provincial league of Huambo province and rose to the second division, the Segundona . At the end of the 2016 season he was promoted to the first division, the Girabola . The club finished the 2017 season in 14th place and would have been relegated. However, he remained in the premier division after Progresso da Lunda Sul was disqualified. JGM Huambo then started the 2018 season , but withdrew his participation in the league on April 27 for financial reasons, so that all his previous games have been canceled and he is determined to be relegated to the second division.
After the 2017 season, it was officially renamed JGM Académica Sport Clube do Huambo and is now occasionally abbreviated to Académica SC do Huambo .
