The m250 series ( JAP JR貨物M250系電車 , JR Kamotsu M250-kei densha ) is since 2004 employed electrical narrow gauge - freight railcars of Japan Freight Railway Company .

An M250 consists of a total of 16 cars. Two unidirectional motor coach of the train are back to back on both ends coupled between are twelve non-driven, as well as in pairs short-coupled flatcar . Two of these vehicles and ten substitute medium vehicles were produced by a consortium of Nippon Sharyo , Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Toshiba . These trains are used on the Tōkaidō main line between the Tokyo freight terminal and the Ajikawaguchi station in Osaka as high-speed freight trains on behalf of the Sagawa Express freight forwarder . You cover this approx. 550 km long distance in 6:10 hours. A total of 28 "U54A" 31-foot containers can be transported. This concept won the Japanese Ministry of Transport's eco-product award in 2004 and, in 2005, became the first non-passenger train to win the Blue Ribbon from the Japanese Railway Fan Club since 1969.
