Jac Toes (born October 4, 1950 in The Hague / Netherlands ) is a Dutch writer , screenwriter and editor .

Life

Toes came to Arnhem at the age of 12 . After a time as a seaman in inland shipping , he studied Dutch literature and linguistics in Nijmegen / Gelderland , near the German border . After that, from 1973 he worked at various institutions as a teacher and at times as an employee in a law firm. He was involved in the squatter scene in Arnhem and founded the radio pirate station Arnhemse Stadsradio in 1980 . In the show Geronnen Bloed , Toes presented old and new thriller literature . Until 1984 he worked there as a moderator and reporter . In 1995 Toes finally gave up his teaching profession to devote himself entirely to writing as a writer and screenwriter .

Toes made his detective debut with the novel Dubbelspoor , which, like his second novel De Afrekening, was nominated for the Gouden Strop . The successful German-Dutch collaboration with Dr. Thomas Hoeps , Germanist , writer and head of the cultural office in Mönchengladbach showed himself clearly between 2007 and 2012: Toes and Hoeps wrote a trilogy around the investigative team Robert Patati and Micky Spijker. Hoeps translated Jac Toes' chapters from Dutch and added his own chapters in German.

Toes lives today as a writer, screenwriter and editor in Arnhem.
