Jacek Żalek (born January 13, 1973 in Białystok ) is a Polish politician of the Polska Razem ( Poland Together ).

Life

Jacek Żalek graduated from Białystok University with a master's degree in law . In 1998 he was elected to the City Council of Białystok for Akcja Wyborcza Solidarność ( Electoral Solidarity ). From 2002 he was in the council for the League Polskich Rodzin ( League of Polish Families ). He later moved to Prawo i Sprawiedliwość ( Law and Justice ) and was elected to the Council of Podlaskie Voivodeship for this . In the early parliamentary elections in 2007 , he ran for the Platforma Obywatelska. In the constituency 24 Białystok he received 9,560 votes and was able to win a mandate for the Sejm. He has been a member of the Justice and Human Rights ( Komisja Sprawiedliwości i Praw Człowieka ) and Legislation ( Komisja Ustawodawcza ) commissions since 2007 .

He later returned to the PiS, for which he stood in the city ​​president election in his hometown of Białystok in October 2018 , but with 30.2% in the first ballot incumbent Tadeusz Truskolaski , who stood for Koalicja Obywatelska and received 54.6% of the vote, was subject. In the 2019 parliamentary election , he was re-elected to the Sejm for the PiS.
