Koalicja Obywatelska
As Koalicja Obywatelska ( Citizens Coalition ), the 2018 is closed electoral alliance between the liberal-conservative party Civic Platform ( Civic Platform ), the economically liberal party Nowoczesna ( Modern ) and the Green Party Zieloni ( Green ), respectively. Regionally, the movement for the autonomy of Silesia has also joined this electoral alliance .
The electoral alliance first appeared together in the 2018 local elections . In June 2019, further cooperation for upcoming elections was agreed. A month later, the green Zieloni party also announced its entry. In August, the regionally active movement for the autonomy of Silesia finally joined the electoral alliance.
The electoral alliance finally won 27.4 percent of the vote in the 2019 parliamentary elections in the election to the Sejm , the Polish lower house, and thus won 134 seats. In the election to the Senate , she won 35.66 percent of the vote and 43 seats.
In the European elections in 2019 , the electoral alliance changed its name to Koalicja Europejska ( European coalition ).
For the 2020 presidential election , the electoral alliance with Rafał Trzaskowski from the Platforma Obywatelska party submitted a joint candidate. Trzaskowski managed to get into a necessary runoff election, but he only narrowly missed the victory against incumbent Andrzej Duda .
