Jack Garratt (born October 11, 1991 in Little Chalfont / Buckinghamshire ) is an English R&B pop musician.
Career
Jack Garratt's mother was an elementary school music teacher and he took music lessons early on. At the age of 13 he applied for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in England . The preliminary decision was also broadcast on private television, but it came in last. He later began a teacher training course and also made recordings for his own album. But in the end he gave up everything and decided to devote himself entirely to music and go his own way.
He wrote his own songs and found professional management that brought him together with Island Records . In 2014 he had an internet success with the single I Couldn't Want You Anyway . He has appeared on the BBC Introducing and the BBC Future Festival , he was a musician at the Reading Festival and was a support act for Mumford and Sons . He had also released several EPs and his debut album was planned for 2016. Garratt emerged victorious from the BBC's Sound of 2016 prediction and was Critics' Choice at the BRIT Awards . The album Phase was released at the end of February 2016 and was internationally successful: in Great Britain it reached number 3, in Switzerland and Australia the top 10 and it was also represented in the US charts.
