Jack Harlow

Jack Harlow (born March 13, 1998 in Louisville , Kentucky ; actually Jackman Thomas Harlow ) is an American rapper. In 2020 he had an international hit with Whats Poppin .

biography

Jack Harlow started rapping when he was 12. During his school days he was active in the local scene. When he was 13 he started putting together his first mixtapes. From inconsequential youth texts, it developed further to more demanding texts. It wasn't until 2017 that he really caught the eye with the mixtape Gazebo and the song Dark Knight and found a label with Generation Now by DJ Drama .

He released two more mixtapes and a number of songs on the label, but collaborations with Bryson Tiller among others on Thru the Night in 2019 were unsuccessful. Finally, the EP Sweet Action was released in 2020 . It contained the song Whats Poppin , which brought him the breakthrough. In February he made the jump into the US singles charts . Only a little later, the song caught on internationally and hit the charts in Australia and Europe in particular. In the United States, it finally rose to number 2 and earned a platinum award.
