Jack Judge
Jack Judge (born December 3, 1878 in Oldbury , England, † July 28, 1938 in West Bromwich , England) was a British variety singer. His parents were of Irish descent and his grandparents were from County Tipperary . He is best known as the composer of the song It's a Long Way to Tipperary , which he performed for the first time on January 31, 1912 at the Grand Theater of Stalybridge .
Jack Judge died in 1938 at the age of 60. In 1953 a plaque was put up in the town of Stalybridge to commemorate him.
