Jack McDonald began his career as a hockey player with the Quebec Bulldogs , for which he was active from 1905 to 1912 - from 1910 in the National Hockey Association - and with whom he won the prestigious Stanley Cup for the first and only time in the 1911/12 season . After a year with the Vancouver Millionaires from the Pacific Coast Hockey Association , the defender returned to the NHA, where he initially ran for a year for Toronto Ontario , and then until 1917 for his ex-club Quebec Bulldogs. In the newly founded National Hockey League , McDonald was in the 1917/18 season in four games for the Montreal Wanderers on the ice before he moved to their city rivals Montréal Canadiens , where he ended his career in 1922. In the meantime he also played for their league rivals, his ex-club from Quebec and the Toronto St. Patricks .
