Jack McKenzie

Jack McKenzie (born July 22, 1930 in High River , Alberta ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player .

Career

Jack McKenzie began his career as a hockey player with the Brandon Wheat Kings, for which he was active from 1947 to 1949 in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League . He then moved to the Toronto Marlboros , for whose junior team he first played, before moving up to the senior team of the Marlboros during the 1949/50 season, with which he immediately won the Allan Cup , the Canadian amateur championship. After another season with the senior team of the Toronto Marlboros, he played from 1951 to 1957 for the Kitchener-Waterloo Dutchmen, with whom he also won the Allan Cup in 1953 and 1955. He also represented Canada with the Dutchmen at the 1956 Winter Olympics. In the 1957/58 season he played for both the Dutchmen and the Whitby Dunlops, with the latter representing Canada at the 1958 World Cup. In the 1958/59 season he played again exclusively for Kitchener-Waterloo. After his ice hockey career, he taught English, math and sports as a high school teacher .

International

For Canada , McKenzie took part in the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo , where he and his team won the bronze medal. At the 1958 World Cup , he won the gold medal with Canada.
