Jack Ruby (music producer)
Lawrence Lindo († April 1989 ), better known as Jack Ruby , was a Jamaican music producer and sound system operator. He is best known for his productions from the 1970s with artists such as Burning Spear .
Ruby lived and worked in Ocho Rios . He was the only major Jamaican record producer outside of Kingston . The artists he produced included Burning Spear, Justin Hinds , The Gaylads, The Heptones , Big Youth and others.
Ruby can be seen in the 1978 film Rockers, about Jamaica's reggae culture.
In 2012, 23 years after his death, Ruby was recognized by the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association (JARIA) for his work.
