Jack White ( 1942 - October 12, 2005 in Barnstable , Massachusetts ) was an American journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner 1974. He was awarded in the category "National Reporting" for his reportage on US President Nixon and his tax fraud.

This led to Nixon's famous saying at a press conference: "People have got to know whether or not their president is a crook. Well, I am not a crook ." ("People need to know if their president is a crook or not. Well, I'm not a crook .")

Nixon then paid US $ 476,000 in taxes .
