life and career

Jackie Condon made his film debut with Mabel Normand in the comedy Jinx (1919) as a baby . Two years later he was seen in Mary Pickford's literary adaptation The Little Lord (1921). In 1922, the child actor became a member of the comedy series The Little Rascals by producer Hal Roach . He starred in a total of 77 short films in the popular film series over the next seven years. After he played annoying, clingy toddlers with the little rascals in the early years, he was later mostly seen as the leader of the children's group. Condon's trademark was his eye-catching blow-dryer hairstyle. Outside of the little rascals, he only played in a few films, including the Harold-Lloyd comedies Dr. Jack (1922) and Girl Shyness (1924). At the beginning of 1929 - even before the first sound films of The Little Rascals - Condon left the Little Rascals with the short film Election Day (1929). Then he retired from the film business.

Despite several attempts, the former child star failed to return to the acting business as an adult. The married Condon later worked like his former fellow rascal Joe Cobb for the airline company Rockwell International . He died of cancer in 1977 at the age of 59.
