Joe Frank Cobb (born November 7, 1916 in Shawnee , Oklahoma , † May 21, 2002 in Santa Ana , California ) was an American actor .

Joe Cobb became known in childhood as the actor of the fat boy , a corpulent child, in the film series The Little Rascals . Between 1922 and 1929 he appeared as one of the main actors in a total of around 85 films in the short film series. Although actually retired from the series due to age, he took on guest appearances in three little rascals films in the 1930s. After leaving the Little Rascals, Cobb only had irregular film appearances, most recently in a small role in the film musical Meet Me in St. Louis from 1944.

From the early 1940s, Cobb worked as a fitter at North American Aviation , in which position he also worked during the Second World War. In 1981 he retired from North American Aviation and died in 2002 at the age of 85. His grave is in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale , California .
