Jacob Fischer (composer)
Jacob Fischer (born August 20, 1849 in Pohrlitz , † April 13, 1933 in Vienna ) was an Austrian music teacher and composer .
Life
Jacob Fischer studied music in Vienna, as well as teaching composition with Karl Graedener and Josef Hellmesberger senior and violin with Jakob Dont . As a result, he first worked as a teacher at the Horak Piano School in Vienna from 1883 to 1890, then from 1900 to 1908 at the Vienna Conservatory , until he was finally taken over by the newly founded Academy of Music , where he worked until 1930.
