Jacob Okanka Obetsebi-Lamptey

Jacob (Jake) Okanka Obetsebi-Lamptey (born February 4, 1946 in Accra , † March 20, 2016 in London ) was a Ghanaian politician , television and radio producer and presenter. In the government of President John Agyekum Kufuor , he was Minister of Tourism & Diasporean Relations between 2005 and July 2007, responsible for tourism and relations with the diaspora. He had previously been Minister of Tourism from 2002 and the modernization of the center of the capital until 2005. He resigned from his ministerial post on July 31, 2007 to be a candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2008 presidential election.

Obetsebi-Lamptey attended primary school in Accra and went to Great Britain for further education.

Until 1996 he worked as a script writer, commentator and presenter on radio and television at GBC (Ghana Broadcasting Corporation) . Then he moved to Lintas West African , an advertising company , as a radio and television producer . In 1971, he was responsible for the campaign Family Planning (Family Planning) for Lintas in Ghana.

Between 1984 and 1999 he also worked for the World Health Organization (WHO). He was president of the Advertising Association in Ghana. In the parliamentary elections in 2000, he was National Campaign Manager for the NPP's election campaign. Jacob Okanka Obetsebi-Lamptey's father was Emmanuel Obetsebi-Lamptey , one of the leading politicians of the British Gold Coast colony and co-founder of the United Gold Coast Convention .
