Jacob Vosmaer (* 1574 in Delft , † 30 June 1641 ) was a Dutch still life - painters , who the golden age is attributed.

Life

Jacob Woutersz Vosmaer was born in Delft in 1574 as the son of the goldsmith Wouter Arentsz Vosmaer. Trained by Jakob de Gheyn II , he registered as a painter before 1613 with the St. Luke Guild , of which he had been a member of the board since 1633. He was best known for his still lifes with flowers .

He was the uncle of the painter Christiaen Gillisz. van Couwenbergh , Nicolaes Vosmaer , Daniel Vosmaer and Abraham Vosmaer . The painter Ebbe Ulfeldt (alias Jakob Morgensen) was also trained by him.
