Giacomo Vighi
Giacomo Vighi also known as Jacopo d'Argenta (* around 1510 in Argenta near Ferrara , † around 1570 in Turin ) was an Italian painter of the 16th century. His works are mainly known as portrait painters at the court of Savoy .
Life
Not much is known about Vighi's early life. Vighi is said to have painted a "Logetta" on the Santa Caterina tower of Castello Estense in Ferrara in 1555 , where he is said to have portrayed the princesses and princes of the d'Este family "very vividly". In Turin he became the official court painter at the court of Savoy and in this role traveled to France, Spain, Bohemia and Saxony, among others.
