Jacques-Amand Eudes-Deslongchamps (born January 17, 1794 in Caen , † January 17, 1867 ) was a French medic , zoologist and paleontologist .

Although he did not come from a wealthy background, Jacques Amand Eudes-Deslongchamps was able to study medicine in his hometown and became an assistant doctor in the Navy in 1812 and an assistant surgeon in the military hospital in Caen in 1815. When he came to Paris to obtain a doctorate, Cuvier's research and teaching turned his interest to natural history and paleontology . After he became a surgeon in Caen in 1822, he sought diversion in geological research. Soon he discovered remains of the Telosaurus in the local quarries and became an avid paleontologist. He was a co-founder of the Natural History Museum in Caen and founder of the Linnaeus Society of Normandy. In 1825 he became professor of zoology at the natural science faculty of Caen University and in 1847 dean.

In 1838 Eudes-Deslongchamps discovered the remains of a poekilopleuron embedded in limestone and, despite the severe damage , was able to reconstruct fragments of the skeleton, mainly vertebrae, ribs and abdominal ribs . Jacques-Amand Eudes-Deslongchamps was the first to describe abdominal ribs. The preparations were destroyed during the Normandy invasion . On December 10, 1849, he became a corresponding member of the Académie des Sciences .

His son Eugène Eudes-Deslongchamps (1830-1889) was also a zoologist and paleontologist and his successor as a professor in Caen.
