Jacques Linard (* 1597 ; † 1645 ) was a French painter . Linard gained particular fame through his still lifes .

Life

Linard was baptized on September 6, 1597 in the Church of Saint-Rémy in Troyes . His father Jehan Linard was a painter, although no work has survived; his mother's name was Anne Thays. His sister Anne married Claude Baudesson . Her son Nicolas Baudesson was also a still life painter. In 1629 Jacques Linard was in Paris, where he asked his family members for permission to marry. On March 29, 1626 he signed a marriage contract with Marguerite Tréhoire, daughter of the painter Romain Tréhoire. On May 17, 1631, Jacques Linard and Marguerite Tréhoire signed a mutual donation treaty (donation mutuelle), in which Linard was referred to as a painter and royal chamberlain for the first time ( peintre et valet de chambre du roi ), but he was able to participate in this service before 1631 to be named. On September 12, 1645 Jacques Linard was buried in the Church of St-Nicolas-des-Champs in Paris .
