Jacques Ogg (born August 28, 1948 in Maastricht ) is a Dutch harpsichordist and fortepiano player .

Life

Jacques Ogg studied harpsichord with Anneke Uittenbosch and organ with Kamiel D'Hooghe at the conservatory in his hometown . From 1970 to 1974 he completed his studies with Gustav Leonhardt and received the soloist diploma. He has given concerts as a soloist at major early music festivals in Europe, the USA, South America and Japan. He played in the ensembles Concerto Palatino , Quartetto Amsterdam , De Egelentier , Les Eléments Amsterdam and The Orchestra of the 18th Century and accompanied, among others, Anner Bylsma , Wilbert Hazelzet , Ricardo Kanji , Konrad Hünteler and Marion Verbruggen . He is also director of the Lyra Baroque Orchestra in Minneapolis . Numerous recordings for the big classic labels and various radio stations rounded off his career.

Jacques Ogg is professor at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and at the Academy of Early Music in Amsterdam. He has given masterclasses across Europe, South America and Japan.
