Marion Verbruggen

Marion Verbruggen (* 1950 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch recorder player .

Life

Marion Verbruggen learned her instrument as a child. She studied at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague , there with Frans Bruggen . She won the international recorder competition in Bruges , 1973 the Nicolai Prize for the interpretation of contemporary Dutch music. and in 1979 the Erwin Bodky competition for early music .

Even the cello suites of Johann Sebastian Bach transcribing for the recorder. She has performed across Europe, North America, Asia and Australia and is famous for her lively and captivating interpretations. Her ensemble partners included Gustav Leonhardt , Ton Koopman , Bob van Asperen , Jacques Ogg , Wieland Kuijken and Lucy van Dael . She also performed with the groups Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin , Musica Antiqua Köln and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment .

Marion Verbruggen is a teacher at the Utrecht Conservatory and gives master classes worldwide.
