Jacques Steyn (born August 25, 1954 in The Hague ) is a Dutch cameraman .

Life

Jacques Steyn first worked as a lighting technician and camera assistant for film. At the end of the 1970s he came to Germany and worked as a chief cameraman for television and from 1980 also in the cinema. With his convincing camera work for Abwärts , Steyn won the German Film Prize in the category Best Camera in 1984 and was then used in international film productions. Even if he got the best reviews for other films, e.g. B. for jungle gold ("excellent photography that captures the sultriness of the exotic jungle world"), Steyn has mostly only been engaged in average television and video productions in the USA since the late 1980s.
