Jacques Vaillant (singer)
Jacques Vaillant (born June 8, 1952 in Strasbourg ) is a French singer.
Life
At the age of six, Jacques Vaillant went blind after an accident. He sang soprano in the school choir .
In 1968 he took part in a competition on the French radio station ( Europe 1 ), "Les numéro 1 de demain" ( The number 1 of tomorrow ), which stops in Strasbourg. Here he sang a song by his idol at the time, Johnny Hallyday , but couldn't win because he was not yet 16. In 1970, at the age of 18, Jacques Vaillant hitchhiked through France . He earned his living doing small jobs as a salesman, stayed in Montpellier , later in Marseille and appeared as a singer whenever he got the opportunity. A year later, Jacques Vaillant went to Paris .
In 1975 he sang for the passengers down in the Paris Metro , Trocadéro station, République and Montparnasse.
In 1980 he recorded his second single Pourquoi piétiner les fleurs , but the first that came from him. That was the step to success: he sold ten thousand records in a few months. In the 1980s the song Slow pour Alvina was even at the top of the charts for several days in Belgium , Switzerland , the Benelux countries and the French overseas territories . However, the great success did not materialize and Vaillant went back down to the metro. Here he wrote his album Correspondances . It was produced in 1983.
