Jacques Wehrung

Jacques Wehrung (born September 16, 1835 in Zilling , † June 14, 1900 in Drulingen ) was an Alsatian notary and member of the regional committee of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine .

Life

Jacques Wehrung was the son of the merchant and tobacco dealer Gustave Wehrung from Bourscheid and his wife Catherine Lantz. He married Marie Julie Valentine Schmidt on October 24, 1871 in Drulingen. In 1865 he became an imperial notary in Drulingen. In 1892 he was appointed judicial councilor. He was president of the Chamber of Notaries in the Unterelsaß district.

From 1873 to 1900 he was a member of the district council of the Zabern district and the district council of Lower Alsace. Through this he was elected to the state committee in 1878 , to which he belonged until his death in 1900.

In the state committee in 1881 he was one of the founders of the "Free Group" faction. After his death, Georges Moritz (1848-1914), the mayor of Pfaffenhoffen, was elected to the state committee for him.
