Jacques de Crèvecœur († September 10, 1439 ) was lord of Crèvecœur, Thiennes and Thois. He was the son of Jean IV. De Crèvecœur and Blanche de Saveuse.

Life

Jacques de Crèvecœur was in the service of the Duke of Burgundy. After the conquest of Compiègnes by the Burgundians in 1418, he was appointed captain and governor of the city, but could not hold it against the Armagnacs . He was captured, which lasted for him until 1421. In the same year he took part in the siege of Saint-Riquier , the fighting at Abbeville and on August 30, 1421 in the battle of Mons-en-Vimeux . In 1423 he fought in the reconquest of Compiègnes.

In 1430 he was captain and governor of Clermont-en-Beauvaisis , whose siege by French troops he withstood until it could be lifted by the Earl of Huntingdon and the Bastard of Saint-Pol . In 1433, on the 3rd chapter, he was accepted - together with Saint-Pol - into the Order of the Golden Fleece .

In 1435 he was a close advisor to the Duke and was one of the negotiators in the Treaty of Arras . Jacques de Crèvecœur first married Bonne de Viefville, daughter of Jean de Viefville and Marguerite de La Vacquerie, then he married Marguerite de la Tremoille, mistress of Esquerdes, daughter of Jean de la Trémoille and Jeanne de Créquy, widow of Philippe du Bois d'Annequin ( La Trémoille house ) His son from this second marriage was Philippe de Crèvecœur d'Esquerdes (1418-1494), who moved to the French side after the death of Charles the Bold (1477) and in 1483 became Marshal of France was appointed.
