Philippe de Crèvecœur

Philippe de Crèvecœur (* around 1418 ; † April 22, 1494 in L'Arbresle near Lyon; buried in the Notre-Dame church in Boulogne-sur-Mer ) was lord of Esquerdes (Cordes) and advisor to the Burgundian duke Charles the Bold and later of the French King Louis XI.
Life
He grew up as the son of Jacques de Crèvecœur together with Charles the Bold at the Burgundian court and soon became one of its more important advisors and military officials.
After the death of Charles in 1477 he entered the service of King Louis XI. over, who confirmed him in his numerous offices in the northern French border area and awarded him others, such as the governorates of Artois, Picardy and La Rochelle. Despite his misconduct during the War of the Burgundian Succession (1477-1493) at the Battle of Guinegate (1479) , he remained a valued military advisor to Louis XI, for whom he also led negotiations about the Burgundian legacy of Charles the Bold ( Peace of Arras (1482) ). He was also the conclusion of the marriage contract between the Dauphin Charles VIII. And Margaret of Austria , daughter of Maximilian I involved. King Charles VIII of France appointed him Marshal of France in 1485 and Lord Chamberlain of France in 1493 (French: Grand chambellan de France ).
In 1468 he was accepted into the Burgundian Order of the Golden Fleece , but was excluded from membership again in 1481 because of his move to France. After moving to France he was from Louis XI. accepted into his order of Michael .
