history
In 2009, the regional authorities Wilhelmshaven, Friesland, Wesermarsch and Wittmund came together to form JadeBay GmbH Entwicklungsgesellschaft in order to jointly develop and implement strategies for the economic development of the region. The reason for the merger and the commitment to a region is in particular the JadeWeserPort and the international opening that comes from it. The international orientation and increased global competition can be better managed as a region.
JadeBay GmbH development company
The region is represented by JadeBay GmbH Entwicklungsgesellschaft, founded in 2009. JadeBay GmbH is the regional location marketing company and accompanies the structural change in the region. It presents the region to the outside world as a place to live, learn, work and invest.
Infrastructure
In terms of traffic, the region is opened up by the A 27, 28 and 29 motorways, a network of well-developed federal, state and district roads and a comprehensive rail network for local passenger and freight traffic. In the middle of the region are the JadeWeserPort deep-water container port and the Mariensiel airfield, a commercial airfield of regional importance. The sea and inland ports of Brake, Nordenham, Elsfleth and Lemwerder are located on the Weser. Bremen International Airport is in the immediate vicinity.
