Club de Fútbol Jaguares de Colima is a former Mexican football club from Colima , the capital of the state of Colima of the same name .

history

The club was founded in 1976 by the brothers Antonio and Juan José Álvarez del Castillo and, after acquiring the second division license from Halcones de Saltillo, was represented in the then second-rate Segunda Division for ten consecutive seasons between 1976/77 and 1985/86 . After the end of the 1985/86 season, the club sold its license to city rivals Loros .

Then the trail of the club is lost, which either temporarily no longer existed or at least withdrew from professional football .

It was not until ten years later that he reappeared in the second division , which was now called Primera División 'A' . In this league, the club was represented in the three seasons between 1997/98 and 1999/00 before he sold his license to the Halcones de Querétaro .

The Jaguares were not exactly one of the top teams in the league and were only able to qualify twice for the Repechaje in the six tournaments held every six months, but failed in both cases (in the first half of 1999 against CF La Piedad and in the second half of 1999 against the UAT Correcaminos ), so that they could never reach the Liguillas , for which eight teams qualify per competition.
