history

Founded in 1971 by Alexander Jahr as Jahr Verlag GmbH, the current year Top Special Verlag GmbH & Co. KG arose in 2000 through a joint venture with top special Verlag GmbH, a subsidiary of Axel Springer AG . Since January 2006 the company has been located in the Hamburg district of Hoheluft-West. The managing director and publisher is Alexandra Jahr, daughter of the company's founder. In February 2012, Alexandra Jahr took over the shares in Axel Springer AG and is now the sole owner of the publishing house.

Publications

The publishing house is an international special-interest media company for exclusive, sporty target groups. The publishing group publishes 36 periodically appearing titles in nine countries. 20 of them appear in Germany: AngelWoche , Blinker , Flyfishing , Kutter & Coast , Karpfen , Angelsee aktuell , Aero International , Fliegermagazin , Fotomagazin , GOLFmagazin , Jäger , Mein Pferd , St. Georg , diving , tennisSPORT and tennis magazin .

The portfolio also includes the titles Angel.markt , diving.markt , Fotowirtschaft , outdoor.markt as well as various special issues and association magazines . Further titles are published by the subsidiaries, including in the Netherlands (five titles), in Switzerland (three titles) and under license in France, Russia and Poland (one title each). The publishing house is also active in the areas of hunting, sailing, tennis and golf in corporate publishing with four titles. Most of the titles are also available as digital editions.
