history

From the end of 1953, the Barakuda diving association (now IAC) published the first German diving magazine Delphin in its own Barakuda publishing house; Kurt von Eckenbrecher , Olympic champion in swimming, took over the editing . In September 1954 the magazine called on the various diving clubs to found a federal association for diving. On October 17, 1954, the Association of German Sports Divers (VDST) was founded in Düsseldorf ; the magazine Delphin became the body of the association at that time. With a circulation of 20,000 copies per year, the magazine was first handed over to Schmidt-Römhild-Verlag and shortly thereafter to Jahr-Verlag (from 2000 years Top Special Verlag ); it has been continued as diving since 1978 in Top Special Verlag .
