The yearbook of the Brothers Grimm Society (JbBGG) is an irregularly published, predominantly literary periodical since 1991 , which deals in an interdisciplinary way with the life and work of the brothers Jacob , Wilhelm and Ludwig Emil Grimm as well as the son of Wilhelm, Herman Grimm .

The yearbook of the Brothers Grimm Society offers an international forum for scientific contributions to all areas in which Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm were active. His subject areas include Germanic linguistics and literary studies , law and history , religious studies and literary folklore as well as Romance, Slavic, Celtic and Finno-Ugric philologies . It is used for biographical research and the scientific classification of new publications on the life and work of the Brothers Grimm. In addition, it has an ongoing Bibliography of the Brothers Grimm, a review section and reports on scientific events as well as echoes of the work of the Brothers Grimm at home and abroad. It also contains the reports on the general meetings of the Brothers Grimm Society.

The yearbook is published by Bernhard Lauer (Kassel) on behalf of the board of the Brothers Grimm Society in conjunction with Maria Teresa Cortez (Aveiro), Rotraut Fischer (Darmstadt), Ewald Grothe (Wuppertal) and Heidrun Helwig (Gießen) and is published by the publisher of the Brothers Grimm Society. Former temporary editors were Holger Ehrhardt (Kassel), Hartmut Kugler (Erlangen), Fritz Paul (Göttingen), Bärbel Plötner (Lyon), Lutz Röhrich (Freiburg) and Ruth Schmidt-Wiegand (Marburg).

So far, a total of fifteen volumes of the yearbook have been published, the first ten from 1991 to 2000 (1991–2005) as single volumes, from years 2001–2002 (XI-XII, 2006) to 2009–2010 (XIX-XX, 2019) each as double volumes .

Since 1963 (and since 1991 parallel to the yearbook of the Brothers Grimm Society ), 17 anthologies on the life and work of the Brothers Grimm have been published at irregular intervals until 2012 under the title Brothers Grimm Commemoration . Up to Volume 9 (1990) they were published in the series of writings of the Brothers Grimm Society .
