The saddle cave near Deutschfeistritz is 490 m above sea level. A. im Kugelstein north of the main town of Deutschfeistritz, south of Badl and northwest of Peggau , Styria in Austria .

The saddle cave is located on the southwestern slope of the Kugelstein, northwest of the five- window grotto and the Roman hole , about 20 meters below the mountain saddle between the Kugelstein and the Deutschfeistritz walls. From the southern portal of the railway tunnel through the Kugelstein, a marked hiking trail leads to the saddle and past the rock face with the cave portal. The portal of the saddle cave is about 5 meters above the foot of the rock face.
description
The stratified portal of the around 10 meter long saddle cave is 1 meter high and around 2.5 meters wide. From a cavity entrance dug, about 2 meters long leads silt north. A very low, slightly sloping corridor connects to the silt, which also leads to the north and is no longer passable after a short time. Another silt branches off from the entrance to the east, but it is not passable.
The cave floor is covered with sandy loam .
