Guerra Huayco (also Guerra Wayco or Guerra Waykho ) is a town in the Tarija department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

location

Guerra Huayco is the second largest town in the canton of Lazareto in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Tarija in the province of Cercado . The village is situated at an altitude of 1992  m between the two kilometers away crest of the Serrania de Tarija in the northwest and the dam seven kilometers away Lago San Jacinto in the southeast.

Guerra Huayco is conveniently located between the different climate zones of the country, on the edge of the Andes at an altitude of almost 2000  m , so that mostly mild and pleasant weather prevails (see climate diagram Tarija). In the rainy season between December and February (summer months) there are frequent torrential thunderstorms. The rest of the year is extremely low in precipitation.

Transport network

Guerra Huayco is located thirteen kilometers by road southwest of Tarija , the capital of the department.

Tarija is on the Ruta 1 highway , which crosses the Bolivian highlands from north to south and runs from Desaguadero on the Peruvian border via the metropolises of El Alto , Oruro and Potosí to Bermejo on the Argentine border.

You leave Tarija in a westerly direction via the Puente San Martin, which crosses the Río Nuevo Guadalquivir and is called Av. Héroes de la Independencia between the two districts of San Martin in the north and Senac in the south. On the outskirts, the road turns in a south-westerly direction and leads via Turumayo and Lazareto to Guerra Huayco and on to the town of San Andrés .
