Jaime Peters (born May 4, 1987 in Pickering , Ontario ) is a Canadian soccer player who has been without a club since his involvement with Ipswich Town.
Career
Peters played for the German club 1. FC Kaiserslautern in his youth . In 2005 he joined the English second division club Ipswich Town , previously he turned down an offer for the reserve team of Chelsea FC . At Ipswich, Peters has so far mostly not been considered, only in the 2006/07 season he was used regularly, in the 2007/08 and 2008/09 seasons he only completed eight league games for Ipswich and was therefore at the beginning of 2008 for half a year Third division club Yeovil Town and in early 2009 for one month to fourth division Gillingham FC .
National team
Peters went through all Canadian selection teams and was one of the regulars for years , especially in the U-20 selection . In 2005 and 2007 he was part of the U-20 squad at the Junior World Championships in the Netherlands and Canada. Both times the team was eliminated after the preliminary round. In 2005 he was also the youngest player in the Canadian senior team for the CONCACAF Gold Cup and was substituted on by coach Frank Yallop in all three preliminary round games. He made his international debut at the age of 17 in a World Cup qualifier against Guatemala. In 2009 he again took part in the CONCACAF Gold Cup .
