The England- born defender spent much of his playing career at Ipswich Town .

Club career

Frank Yallop grew up in Vancouver , British Columbia . In 1983 he signed a contract with the then first division club Ipswich Town. In total, he played 385 games (including the trophy) with the club in 13 years and scored 8 goals. Yallop was relegated to the second division with Ipswich in 1986 and was still in the team's squad six years later when they were promoted to the new Premier League .

After his long time in England, he moved to North America in 1996 to join the then newly emerging Major League Soccer . In the MLS Inaugural Player Draft, he was selected by Tampa Bay Mutiny . By the end of the 1998 season, he was on the court at every Tampa game.
