Jakob Bilz
Jakob Bilz (born March 4, 1872 in Unterliederbach , † June 2, 1951 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German Catholic priest and theologian .
Life
From 1878 to 1886 he attended the cathedral school in Frankfurt, then worked as an apprentice (lithography) and private lessons, and from 1888 to 1893 Tauberbischofsheim high school convent . From 1893 he studied theology in Freiburg and St. Peter's Monastery in the Black Forest . After being ordained a priest in 1897, he studied in Rome from 1899 to 1901 , a. a. at Louis Billot . After receiving his doctorate in 1906 as Dr. theol. in Freiburg im Breisgau with Carl Braig , he was director of the Theological Convict in Freiburg im Breisgau from 1906 to 1920. In 1914 he became a private lecturer and in 1917 an extraordinary professor . From 1919 until his retirement in 1937 he taught at the chair for dogmatics and theological propaedeutics in Freiburg im Breisgau.
