Jakob Geiger

Jakob Geiger (born June 16, 1854 in Richen ; † April 25, 1925 there ) was a farmer and innkeeper in Richen. From 1909 to 1912 he was a member of the second chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly .

Life

He was the illegitimate son of Margarete Gebhardt, whose later husband, the Richener farmer Heinrich Geiger, recognized paternity in 1858. Jakob Geiger attended elementary school in Richen and went into business for himself as a farmer in 1880. From 1898 he also ran the Zur Sonne inn in Richen, where he also held various honorary positions. From 1909 to 1912 he was a member of the 66th electoral district (Eppingen district and parts of the Wiesloch and Sinsheim districts) in the second chamber of Baden, where he belonged to the national liberal parliamentary group and was a member of the petition commission . He took an active part in parliamentary life.
