Jakob Hessemann

Jakob Hessemann or Jacques Hessemann (born September 15, 1844 in Bettweiler ; † September 13, 1925 in Rohrbach b. Bitsch ) was a wine merchant, landowner and member of the second chamber of the regional parliament of the Reichsland Alsace-Lorraine for the center .

Jakob Hessemann, who was of Catholic denomination, attended elementary school and the Collège von Bitsch and then completed a commercial training course for 3 years in Paris and 3 years in Metz . He lived as a wine merchant and landowner in Bettweiler.

In the first (and only) election to the state parliament, he stood as a candidate for the center in the constituency of Geispolsheim-Oberehnheim. In the first ballot, 6,171 votes were cast in the constituency of the 7,465 eligible voters. Hessemann received 3,373, the candidate from the Lorraine bloc Jeanty 2,258 and the Social Democrat Henel 526 votes. Jakob Hessemann was a member of the state parliament until 1918.
