Jakob Jahn

Jakob Jahn (born March 5, 1897 in Würzweiler ; † January 28, 1976 in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse ) was a German administrative officer and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After graduating from elementary school and attending advanced training school, Jahn completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer in 1913/14. He then worked as a forest worker and was employed as a forest, mine and factory worker since 1919. In 1921 he moved to the Christian trade unions in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse as a secretary . At the same time he acted as a secretary in the Palatinate district management of the Reich Association of Rural Workers.

After the National Socialists came to power, Jahn was dismissed from the union. He was initially unemployed and then briefly worked as a traveler. From 1934 to 1939 he worked as an insurance agent in the Palatinate . In 1939 he took up a job as an employee at the district administration in Neustadt. In 1949 he received his appointment to the government council and later, as senior government councilor, he was head of the pension office in Landau in the Palatinate . In 1962 he retired.

Political party

After 1945 Jahn joined the CDP , which later became the regional association of the CDU Rhineland-Palatinate .

MP

Jahn was a member of the Advisory State Assembly of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate in 1946/47 . From 1947 to 1951 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament .

Honor

The state of Rhineland-Palatinate honored him in 1967 with the award of the Freiherr vom Stein plaque .
