Jakob Ludwig Beuther

Jakob Ludwig Beuther (born August 18, 1573 in Strasbourg ; † 1623 ) was a Palatinate administrative officer and genealogist .

Life

Born the son of the Strasbourg scholar Michael Beuther , he came to Zweibrücken with his mother and his eldest brother Michael Philipp Beuther after his death . His brother had taken up the position of deacon there in 1589 . In Zweibrücken he was first bibliographer in the ducal court service. From 1591 he was the personal and valet of the ducal princes Johannes and Friedrich Casimir . In 1595 he was a law student in Strasbourg, in 1601 a librarian, paper administrator and legal clerk at the highest court in Zweibrücken. In the same year he married Margarethe Katharina Koch, daughter of the land clerk Henrich Koch and granddaughter of the former general superintendent Kunemann Flinsbach . In 1605 he was the land clerk of the Oberamt Neukastel in Bergzabern . He died in 1623.

In addition to his duties as an administrative officer, he worked scientifically. After minor work in 1595, he published his first major work on the genealogy of the Zweibrücker Wittelsbach family in 1616 .
