Jakob Mölbert (born March 6, 1893 ; † 1979 ) was a German politician ( CDU ). In 1945/46 he was mayor of the town of Bitburg in the Eifel and between 1946 and 1972, with interruptions, mayor of the North Rhine-Westphalian town of Bad Honnef (until 1960 Honnef ).

Live and act

Mölbert was the mayor of the Bitburg- Land office until he was ousted by the National Socialists in 1933 and then moved to Honnef. After the end of the war in 1945, the American occupation forces brought him back to Bitburg as the city mayor. At the request of representatives of the newly founded CDU in Honnef, he agreed to run for the party as (honorary) mayor in Honnef and was appointed by the military government until June 7, 1946 on the proposal of the city council from April 30, 1946 . After the first local elections in the British occupation zone in September 1946, Mölbert remained in this position at the suggestion of the city council to the military government, whereby he was responsible for the management of the city administration only from 1947 to 1949 - before and after that this was the city director . After an interruption from 1949 due to the local authority at that time, he held the office again from November 1952 until 1961, due to disputes within the CDU city association, he was no longer nominated for the city council election. After the local elections that followed, Mölbert was re-elected mayor in October 1964 and remained so until his retirement for reasons of age and health in January 1972. In addition, from 1954 to 1965 he was deputy mayor of the Siegkreis and for three decades a member of the district council until 1961 as parliamentary group leader of the CDU and for a long time as chairman of the finance committee.
