Jakub Vaněk (* 28. March 1991 ) is a from the Czech Republic originating handball player .

Vaněk, whose father Zdeněk Vaněk was also a successful handball player, played at ThSV Eisenach in the A-youth in the Regionalliga and in the 2nd men's team in the Oberliga Thuringia. From 2002 to 2005 he played in the youth club of Stralsund HV .

For the 2009/2010 season, the 1.97 meter tall backcourt player Vaněk planned a move to Stralsund HV, which was trained by his father. Due to the revocation of the license for the Stralsund HV, the contract was canceled; Jakub Vaněk moved to SV Post Schwerin . In March 2012 he signed a contract with the Stralsund AGM; in April 2017 the contract was extended by two years.

Jakub Vaněk was part of the Czech national youth team.
